Sarah, how much (or how little) to put in your About section, and the rest of your LinkedIn profile, is something I’m asked about all the time. Basically, more is better. The more content (or information) in your profile, the more relevant keywords are likely to be in there, which helps boost your profile ranking in LinkedIn, so more people will find your profile and you.

I love your outline especially re: write your biography by storytelling.
If you could advise how in depth or not one should write about .
Each time I start I want to write a book.

These are some excellent points Meg!

For someone who is very active on LinkedIn – I am guilty of not having a strong ABOUT section.
Writing a compelling About section is key.

I like the format suggestions you have provided – mainly adding a 3rd party quote/testimonial.

I will use this as a guideline to update my About section in the next 2 week :).
